Dear Fellow Caballeros,

The 77th annual De¬sert Caballeros Trail Ride is set for Monday, April 15 – Friday, April 19, 2024. And the Board of Directors is very excited.

The pre-ride parties will begin on Friday, April 12 with the second annual “Back Porch Social,” taking place on the back patio of Rancho Bar 7 at 111 E. Wickenburg Way. It starts at 5pm and runs to 7pm that evening.

This party is exclusively for DC Riders of all Camps, their wives, and sweethearts, as well as a few special guests of The Ride. There’ll be icy cold beer and generous drinks for sale, some of the best bar food you’ve ever tasted, not-too-loud country music, and a fantastic group of DC folks to share all the fun with.

The Back Porch Social is a great way to start the pre-Ride weekend, catch up with old friends, and make some new ones.

Saturday night, April 13 is each Camp’s Party and Sunday, April 14 is the golf tournament in the morning, followed in the early evening by the El Presidente Party and our famous DC Silent Auction.

The Board of Directors has been working tirelessly since right after the 2023 DC Ride
to prepare for 2024 and make our 77th ride through the Bradshaw and Weaver Mountains the best trail ride ever…a cowboy experience of a lifetime!

We can all look forward to a host of other parties during Ride Week as well. The Shrimp & Avocado Party, the Hawaiian Luau Party, the Margarita Party, the Cheese Crisp Party, plus our now legendary Duck Races, our wonderful and moving flag ceremony, the gymkhana, the trap shoot, the Chicken Dance, plus food fit for John Wayne.

How do you feel about surf & turf (petite filets and lobster tails), prime rib, hot fudge sundaes served by your Board of Directors, eggs any way you want them, sausages, crispy bacon, hotcakes, cereal and more for breakfast? It’s all served up by Mickey Houston and his great catering crew in the middle of the desert! How lucky are we?

So polish your cowboy boots, dust off your good Stetson “party” hat (and your straw Resistol for the trail), pack up your chaps and your gear, and get ready to enjoy the 77th Annual Desert Caballeros Trail Ride this coming April. Make sure you tell your Greenstripers they’re in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

My wife Shawn and I look forward to seeing you all and welcoming you to Wickenburg on April 12 for DC 77. It’s going to be a helluva ride!
